Ashley L. Albertsen

Ashley L. Albertsen, Partner

Ashley L. Albertsen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Peru State College. Ashley earned her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2010. Throughout law school, Ashley worked at the Douglas County Public Defender’s Office.

In 2010, Ashley successfully completed the Nebraska Bar and began working as a fellow practitioner. Ashley’s focus has been on criminal and juvenile law. Ashley believes that everyone deserves representation, and she strives to provide her clients with the best representation she can. Ashley and Melissa partnered in the beginning of 2013 to form Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO.

Ashley, a partner at Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO, is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Omaha Bar Association. She is also a member of the juvenile section of the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Ashley Albertsen is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, the Winnebago Tribal Courts, and the Ponca Tribal Courts.

Melissa Oestmann, Partner

Melissa Oestmann earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Peru State College in 2006. She earned her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2010. Throughout law school, Melissa worked as a law clerk for a local firm that practiced family and juvenile law.

After successfully completing the Nebraska Bar, Melissa began a solo career practicing juvenile and family law. Melissa believed that by starting her own practice, she could be more effective in helping people deal with family law issues. In 2012, Melissa formed Oestmann Law P.C. L.L.O. to continue working in the areas of family and juvenile law. Ashley and Melissa partnered in the beginning of 2013 to form Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO.

Melissa Oestmann is involved in a number of professional organizations, including the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Omaha Bar Association. Melissa is also a member of the juvenile law section and a member of the Indian law section.

Erin E. Wetzel

Erin E. Wetzel, Associate

Erin E. Wetzel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Creighton University. Erin earned her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2012. During law school, Erin was a law clerk for the Iowa Public Defender in Council Bluffs and the Federal Public Defender in Omaha. Following law school, Erin worked as the law library clerk at the Douglas County Department of Corrections for two years where she assisted inmates with legal research.

Erin became licensed to practice law in Iowa in 2013 and in Nebraska in 2014. Erin practiced criminal defense, juvenile law, and family law in Broken Bow, NE for two years before joining Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO. While practicing in central Nebraska, Erin assisted attorneys with public defender contracts in Brown, Custer, Howard, Sherman, and Valley counties.

Erin is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, the Omaha Bar Association, the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Erin Wetzel is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, Iowa, the US District Court of Nebraska, the Winnebago Tribal Courts, and the Ponca Tribal Courts.

Jessica L. Murphy, Legal Assistant

Jessica Murphy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology from Virginia Tech in 2013. Jessica is currently a third-year law student at Creighton University School of Law; she intends to graduate in May 2017. Following graduation, she will be working on gaining admission to the practice of law.

Jessica Murphy participates in the Law Ambassadors at Creighton University. Jessica is also a student member of the Nebraska State Bar Association. She is a member of the juvenile law section, family law section, and young lawyers section. In the summer of 2015, Jessica completed an externship with the Douglas County Separate Juvenile Court.

Jessica Murphy began working at Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO in May 2016 as a Law Clerk.

Jessica graduated from Crayton School of Law in May of 2017, and will be sitting for the Nebraska State Bar in July 2017.

Michelle Fenton

Michelle Fenton, Office Manager

Michelle Fenton started working at Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO in November 2015 as the office manager. She has an extensive background in customer service with more than 24 years of experience. As the office manager, Michelle is responsible for any billing questions that clients may have.

Pierce D. Fiala, Law Clerk

Pierce Fiala earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, with honors, from Wayne State College in 2016. Pierce is currently a second-year law student at the University of Creighton School of Law, and expects to graduate August of 2018. Following graduation, he will sit for the February bar to gain admission to the practice of law.

Pierce Fiala participates in the accelerated two-year Juris Doctor Program, is an active member of the Federalists Society, as well as a student member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, and he is a recipient of the Dean’s Academic Scholarship at the University of Creighton School of Law. 

Pierce began working at Oestmann & Albertsen Law P.C. L.L.O. in May 2017 as a Law Clerk.

Brandon Rehm, Receptionist

Brandon Rehm started working at Oestmann & Albertsen Law PC LLO in April 2017 as the Receptionist. He has been working in the customer service industry for over 3 years. He is currently attending Metropolitan Community College for a Desktop Support Specialist degree. As receptionist, he is responsible for the initial point of contact for our clients both in person and over the phone.
